Holden - Duane Estabrook Blake, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his home. Duane was born on March 13, 1941 to Evelyn Estabrook Blake. He grew up in Smyrna Mills and was married to Rose-Anne McPheters on July 27, 1962.
Duane was employed at Bangor Mental Health Institute for 40 plus years and after retirement he worked several part-time positions. He recently retired from EMMC as a parking attendant.
Duane was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Rose-Anne; his mother, Evelyn, and his brother-in-law, Kenny B.
He is survived by his brother, Morris Blake and wife, Lora of Connecticut; his three children, Denise Memmelaar and husband, Quentin of NC, Debra Burke and husband, Robert of NC, and David Blake and wife, Rose of Brewer, Maine. He was a grandfather of six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday August 4, 2021 at Clewleyville Cemetery, Holden with pastor, David Gardner, officiating. In lieu of flowers, please made a donation to the Diabetic Foundation.
