EDDINGTON – Edward James Byers, 52, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2020 surrounded by family and loved ones at a Bangor hospital after a battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 6, 1967 in Lincoln.
Ed graduated from Bangor High School with the Class of 1985. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1988. After his honorable discharge from the Army he began his career working for the City of Bangor’s Public Works Department until retiring at the age of 50. Ed’s true passion was working on cars and building hotrods.
Ed is survived by his adoptive mother, Vera Thibeau; brother, Kevin Byers; son, Zachary Byers; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held 1-3 PM, Sunday, March 1, 2020 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor where a sharing of remembrances will take place at 2 PM. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
