HUDSON – Edward “Ed” E. Jamison, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family June 20, 2023, at a Bangor hospital. He was born September 9, 1940, in Houlton, the son of Ernest E. and Blanche E. (Malone) Jamison.
Ed grew up in Haynesville. He spent a big portion of his life working in the woods with his father; driving a pulp truck and harvesting timber. In the early 1960’s he met and married Ardis F. Perkins. Together, they raised a family in Bangor, until her passing, in 2000. He retired in 2010 from Industrial Metals and Recycling, Bangor (where they referred to him as “Fast Eddie”!), where he drove truck and operated a crane. In 2006, he met Muriel Nutter and they spent over 17 years together until his passing.
Ed enjoyed bird hunting at camp in Haynesville with his friends, Dayton, Sonny and Pete, and his boys, Jeff, William and Scott. As a devoted family man, Ed loved spending his time with his family, affectionately called “Dad” “Papa” (by Holden, his great-grandson who spent much time with him in the past two years), “Grampy”, and “Grampy J”.
In addition to Muriel, Ed is survived by his children, William Jamison and his wife, Sandy, Jeff Jamison and his girlfriend, Denise Michaud, Mike Nutter, Michelle Young and her husband, Robert, Scott Nutter and his fiancée, Laurie Linscott; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; a special nephew Ed considered a son, Daniel Jamison and his wife, Cheryl; his sister, Wanda Perkins; and a large, extended family. In addition to his parents, Ed was predeceased by his wife, Ardis; siblings, Frank, Victor, Julia and Linda.
Family and friends are welcome to call 11 – 1 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a memorial service will be held immediately after. Interment will be in Waugh Cemetery, Levant, immediately following the service.
