EDDINGTON - Edward E. Oxley, 90, passed away at home on May 29, 2020. He was born on September 2, 1929 in Bangor, the son of Fred and Elva (Robinson) Oxley.
Edward was a New England Teamster, and enjoyed his long career driving truck. His very first trucking job, at the age of 17, was with his father's company, Fred’s Express.
After retiring in 1991, Edward enjoyed many winters in Florida, where deep sea fishing and golfing were favorite activities. Ed loved his time spent on the golf course, whether or not he came out under par. He spent summers at his camp on Taunton Bay in Sullivan, where he often hosted lobster and clambakes with family and friends. Ed also loved to dance, and could be found on the dance floor of many local venues. He will be remembered by family and friends as a kind, caring, and patient man, who loved to stop by for a visit and always kept his door open, welcoming company.
Edward was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife, Annette (Kelly) Oxley; son, Alan Oxley; daughter, Bonnie Oxley; grandson, Alan Oxley; sisters, Jane Sullivan, and Kathleen Barrows; and brother, George Oxley.
