Edwin Lord

October 8, 1954 — April 17, 2014

LEVANT – Edwin G. Lord, 59, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday April 17, 2014 at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of Hoyt Lord and Nina (Lovely) Lord Clough. Ed served in the United States Army for twenty years before retiring as a Major. He also taught JROTC for eight years at Hermon and Nokomis High Schools. Ed was a prankster, an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a “grillmaster” and “bacon aficionado.” He was the type of man who would drop anything to help you out and made sure his family and extended family were taken care of. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and wife of thirty-nine years Elizabeth “Lizzie” (Brown) Lord. When he met her, two families joined as one. Ed also leaves behind three children, Edwin G. Lord III and his wife Wanda of Pittsfield, Heather M. Kelly and her husband Kenn of Bangor, Bryan N. Lord and his wife Erica of New Gloucester, a very special grandson Aaron, five siblings, Elsie Gilley, Cindy Manson, Tom Lord, Randy Lord, Tim Clough, his grandmother Vesta Goodwin, step-father Malcolm Clough, several nieces and nephews, special friends, Roger and Paula Banaitis, John and Cindy Conner, George and Jean Raymond, John and Lorraine Thibodeau, and his special puppies “Spot” and “Dot”. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Larry Lord. A memorial service will be held 2 PM Wednesday April 23, 2014 at Levant Harvest Chapel, 3531 Union St., Levant with Pastor Jerry Wright officiating. The family invites relatives and friends for a time of remembrance and refreshment in the church fellowship hall following the service. Interment with military honors will take place at Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd. Augusta.
