Elaine Kennedy Willigar, 81, passed away on July 1, 2023. She was born June 2, 1942, in Houlton, the daughter of Leon and Geraldine (Rogers) Kennedy.

Elaine graduated from Patten Academy in 1960, and retired from EMMC after 25 years as a respiratory technician. She also enjoyed driving as a volunteer for Penquis Cap.

Elaine is survived by her children; Lynnne (Sterling) Smith, Sonya (Jon) Crawford, Andrew Willigar, Aimee (Marcus) Campbell; grandchildren, DJ (Kara) McDunnah, Nick (Lindsey) Smith, Peter (Dani) Osborne, Cory (Sam) Albert-Osborne, Kayla Willigar (Bruce), Katie (Ross) Hammond, Nathan Cram, Broc Campbell, Tom Willigar, Sam Willigar, Reid Campbell; great-grandchildren, Janessa Fiske-Smith, Dylan McDunnah, Seth McDunnah, Randi-Jo Smith, Karoline Smith, Ethan Willigar, Lennox Smith; sister-in-law, Nancy Kennedy; sister and brother-in-law, Loreen and Ed Kalinowski; nephew, Greg Kennedy; nieces, Betsy (Casey) Taylor and Erin (Chet) Goodwin; special cousins Glenda McNally, Donna Carlstrom, Cathy Lufkin and countless others. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Brian Kennedy, and grandson Travis Smith.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Reception will be held from 1– 3 PM, Sunday, July 16, 2023 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 center Street, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Elaine in a special way may make donations to your favorite children’s charity, as Elaine lived for her family.
