Eleanor (Buck) Beal, 96, passed away peacefully, April 29, 2014 at an Augusta nursing facility. She was born in Bangor, July 31, 1917, the daughter of George and Katherine (Shearer) Buck.
Eleanor was educated in the schools of Bangor. She married Theodore M. Beal on October 3, 1953. He died on November 21, 1986. Eleanor was a member of the Phillips Congregational Church. She was also a past member of the Sherburn Chapter A.E.S. and the Phillips Historical Society.
Eleanor is survived by her sister, Nancy Spencer of Saco and her nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by seven siblings.
A committal service will be held 1pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Mile Square Cemetery in Avon with Rev. Robert Eggerton, officiating. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
