BANGOR - Eleanor (Cameron) Spellman, 81, wife of the late Thomas F. Spellman, Sr., died peacefully at home November 2, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 29, 1935 in Bangor, daughter of Angus and Mary (McCann) Cameron.
Ellie was a graduate of St. John School and John Bapst. She is survived by five children, Mary S. Morse and her husband, Greg of Kennebunk, Thomas F. Spellman, Jr. and his wife, Carol of Sanford, Timothy E. Spellman of Bangor, Regina “Jeannie” Taylor and her husband, Mark of Bangor, and Paul J. Spellman of Bangor; seven grandchildren, Molly Morse, Amanda and Adam Spellman, Joseph, Patrick and Kathryn Taylor and Gavin Spellman; two great-grandchildren, Berkley Taylor and Avery Spellman; three sisters, Janet “Patti” Martin, Beverly Trainor and Christine Cameron; one brother, Ronald Cameron. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by an infant sister, Regina and sister, Mary DeRoche.
Ellie retired from the New England Telephone Company. She enjoyed anything social and was very much appreciated by her family and many friends. She was feisty and the life of the party. Though she will be sadly missed, she leaves us with wonderful memories. The family is very grateful to the Bangor Area Visiting Nurses Hospice Team for their loving care and support.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm, Monday, November 7, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A funeral Mass will be held 11am Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, 207 York Street, Bangor followed by the Rite of Committal at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
