Eliot Lamb

April 27, 1993 — December 23, 2015

Eliot Andrew York Lamb, 22, died unexpectedly December 23, 2015, in Jefferson, Maine. He was born April 27, 1993 in Bangor, the son of Edgar Andrew Jr. and Dawn Marie (York) Lamb.

Eliot graduated from Orono High School, Class of 2011. Following graduation, he attended the University of Maine at Machias for one year. In 2012, he became a Registered Maine Guide and Registered Whitewater Rafting Guide.

Eliot had a deep love of the Maine wilderness, and looked forward to every season of the year. He was a passionate outdoorsman, who impressed others with his knowledge of nature and his desire to share his wisdom and joy with those around him. Eliot’s soul will forever run through the currents of the rivers he loved and the woods where he hunted. He met the love of his life, Alex Horne, while guiding together.

He is survived by his loving parents Edgar Lamb Jr. and Dawn Lamb of Orono; his sister Madilyn (Lamb) Terrill and her husband Brandon Terrill of Augusta; his sister Maridawn Lamb and her partner Jason Mylen of Mountain View, CA; and Alex Horne of Gorham, NH, whom Eliot was planning to spend his life with. His niece and nephew, Anika and Silas, brought great brightness to Eliot’s life and he to theirs; he will surely watch over them forever. Eliot is also survived by his uncle Stephen York of Milford, with whom he shared a special bond.

In addition, he is survived by his grandparents Ann and Edgar Lamb Sr. of Brewer, and Jeanine York and Norris York of Brewer, and many, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to call 2-5pm, Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor.

An outdoor event to teach kids about the wonders of Maine will be planned in Eliot’s honor at a later date. Those who wish to remember Eliot in a special way may make gifts in his memory towards this event and can be sent to: In Memory of Eliot, care of Stephen York, P.O. Box 729 Brewer, Maine 04412.
