Elizabeth Mcaskill

Elizabeth A. McAskill, 93, died, December 27, 2015, at Stillwater Healthcare. She was born in Orono, November 14, 1922, daughter of Richard and Ellie Murray. Elizabeth graduated from Orono High School, class of 1941. She worked at the University of Maine for several years. Elizabeth was a friend to all, no matter what, she was always there. Her personality was never ending. She was a great mother and a loving wife. Elizabeth will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Jack McAskill; sons, Peter and John Stevens and Richard McAskill; a grandson, Michael Stevens; brothers, John and Richard Murray; sisters, Hazel Sands and Mildred Anderson.
Surviving are a daughter, Margaret Oliver; daughter-in-law, Lorena Stevens; granddaughter, Sonya Stevens; two sisters, Ethel Clark Carroll and Grace Wagner; nieces, Judy Martin, Debra Magill and Janet Smith; great niece, Janell Martin. The family wishes to thank the staff of Stillwater Health and Beacon Hospice for their loving care of Elizabeth.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the Orono Public Library, for Children’s Books, 37 Pine St., Orono, ME. 04473.
