Elizabeth L. Meucci, 89, passed peacefully November 5, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born in Chicopee Falls, MA., September 26, 1927, daughter of Moulton and Agnes (Holz) Davis.
She was a graduate of John Bapst High School, Class of 1945. Betty attended a school of nursing in Boston, MA. then returned to Maine. November 12, 1950 she married William “Bill” Meucci, they were married 63 years. He predeceased her in 2013.
In 1967 she purchased with her husband, Family Fun Bowling Lanes, and for 40 years she worked six days a week preparing coffee for the early morning customers.
She was a member of the Jaycee Wives and the Women’s Bowling Association for many years. Betty was an avid bowler and for 40 years traveled the country bowling in many national tournaments and winning many awards. She enjoyed the annual West Broadway “tea party” and spending time at Sebec Lake with family and friends. Betty was a volunteer at Phillips Strickland for many years.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Melvin Davis and three sisters, Joan Wiles, Jean Morrill and Arlene Cecil.
Surviving are three sons, Andy Meucci and his wife, Pam of Bangor, Tim Meucci and his wife, Gloria, of Bangor and Steven Meucci and his wife, Sheri of Winthrop; six grandchildren, Domonic, Merico, Angelina, Katrina, Mario and Antonio; two great grandchildren, Emily and Tanner; sister, Nancy Gonzales and her husband, Fai, of St. Augustine, FL.; many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Dirigo Pines, Winterberry Heights and Beacon Hospice, for their loving care of Betty.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 5 to 7 pm. Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 10 am. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St., Bangor, followed by the Rite of Committal at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
