Hampden-Elizabeth E "Libbie" Preston 39 passed away unexpectedly July 4, 2021
with her husband Scott E Preston by her side at their home. Libbie was born September 23, 1981, beloved daughter of James and Gayle Conley of Hampden, ME. Libbie attended school in Hampden and graduated in 2000 . In lieu of playing sports she was obsessed with working , sometimes working 3 jobs while still going to school full time. In 2005 Libbie and her husband Scott became the proud owners of Wellman Paving, growing a small paving business into one of the largest and most respected paving companies around. Libbie held an integral part in the growth and success of the company. If you ever had the opportunity to meet Libbie you fell in love with her. No matter what she was feeling inside you were greeted with a huge smile and jolly hello. She was an incredible human and you were blessed to be part of her life. Libbie and Scott owned a home in Florida and that was her happy place, going every chance she could. Mom had the most fun and loving personality that impacted every single person she met. She treated all of our friends and all of her employees as if they were her own and even managed to adopt one. She meant everything to us and vise versa. She was always willing to answer our one million Face Time calls every single day and never got tired of what we had to say. She was much more than we could ever have hoped for in a mother and she will forever be a part of us. We love you and hope your dreams of being a rancher or an FBI agent are coming true on your new adventure.—Ryleigh, Evan, Hayleigh. Libbie is survived by her parents, James and Gayle Conley of Hampden along with her beloved children who were her pride and joy, daughters Ryleigh, Hayleigh and son, Evander. She is also survived by her sister, Grace Nash and brother-in-law, Charlie and special nephew, Chase Nash whom she adored, her brother Thomas Hutchinson and sister-in -law Erica and special nephew, TJ and wife, Kaly Hutchinson and special niece, Abigail Hutchinson . She is also survived by her special Uncle Matt and Aunt Donna "Cooz" Wiiliams and Aunt Cheryle "Shuah" and Uncle Lee Nelson , Aunt Kathy and Uncle Dar Houghtaling and Aunt Carol Conley along with several cousins . Libbie also leaves behind her mother-in-law, Patricia Preston who she had a very special bond with and soon to be step-fathe-inlaw, Andy Ginn along with Scotts' sister, Samantha Preston and her son , Libbie's nephew Jacob. Libbie was also predeceased by her grandparents Kathleen Williams, Matthew Williams and Ruth and James Conley Sr. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Hampden-Gilpatrick Chapel of Brookings-Smith, 45 Western Avenue, Hampden. Please join us for a celebration of Scott and Libbie’s life 2pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Skehan Recreation Center, 1 Main Street North, Hampden. Burial directly after services will be private for the family only.
