Bangor – Ella (Ricker) Thomas, 95, peacefully left us on July 1, 2020, exactly five years after her husband of 69 years, James J. Thomas. Ella was born in Milo, Maine on December 5, 1924, the daughter of Robert and Gladys (Flanders) Ricker.
Ella graduated from Milo High School in 1942, and the Eastern Maine General School of Nursing (now Northern Light EMMC) in 1946.
She worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 20 years, was the industrial nurse for Sylvania for three years, and was the office nurse for Dr. Gardner Moulton for 20 years.
Ella is survived by five children, Paula Thomas and husband Stephen Hughes, Kathryn and husband, Thomas Bernier, Janice and husband, Dr. Larry Farmer, Diane and husband, Charles Paine, and John Thomas and wife, Natalie; eight grandchildren, Heidi and husband, Ed Gosselin, Troy Swett and wife, Nichole, Amanda Brooks, Monica French, Alexandra Farmer, Jillian and husband, Sam Rowan, Nicole and husband, Shawn LaPlante, and Lily Bernier; eight great grandchildren, Braeden, Brooklyn, Griffin, Arabella, Gene Michael, Ella, James, and Lilah; two step-grandchildren, Jessica Thongparn and Matthew Paine.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Lawrence, and Carl Ricker.
Interment will be private for the family.
