Ernest “Ernie” Harriman Boynton, 84, passed away on December 27, at his home in Hampden. He was born on April 18, 1931 in Long Branch, N. J., the son of Ernest Hinsdale and Alta (Reason) Boynton.

He joined Webber Oil Company and was transferred to, Chase & Kimball Oil Co. in Dover-Foxcroft, as manager of operations. Most of Ernie's best friends were fishermen and duck hunters. Ernie enjoyed training and working with Labrador retrievers all his life. One of Ernie's favorite pastimes was the annual gathering, with close friends, at duck camps in Gouldsboro, Duck Flat Manor, and in Milbridge over many duck seasons.
