Ethel Mae Tuck, 90, passed away February 7, 2023, at a Orono healthcare facility. She was born May 2, 1932, the daughter of Elsie M. Craig.
Ethel was a graduate of Bangor High School in the Class of 1950. She was a lifelong member of the Columbia Street Baptist Church which was the central focus of her life. She participated in many church programs and taught Sunday School and volunteered in the nursery. Ethel worked for 10 years at Frank’s Bakery where she was commonly known as “Auntie”. She was a great cook and the family loved her yeast rolls and muffins that she would make over the holidays. Ethel also knitted many, many, many mittens over the years that people still wear today. More then anything she loved her husband Charles “Bill” Tuck dearly and in their later years could always be found together.
She is survived by her five sons, Mark Tuck and wife, Suzanne of Bangor, Charles Tuck and wife, Cynthia of Brewer, Rev. Thomas Tuck and wife, Kathleen of Pittston, Stephen Tuck and wife, Melissa of Topsham and Daniel Tuck and his wife, Bernardine of Cleveland, OH; a special cousin, Josephine Craig Leonard who was like a sister; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her mother, and her loving husband of 64 years, Charles “Bill” Tuck, she was predeceased by her aunt Ada and uncle Alton Craig (the couple who raised her) and a cousin, David Craig and wife, Mary.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the Columbia Street Baptist Church, 63 Columbia Street, Bangor, with Rev. Thomas A. Tuck, officiating. A reception will held in the church immediately following the service. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Ethel in a special way may make gifts in her memory to the Memorial Funds of the Columbia Street Baptist Church.
