Eugene Dwyer

March 12, 1945 — February 7, 2025

BRADFORD - Eugene Stanley Dwyer passed away peacefully February 7, 2025 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. "Gene" was almost 80 years old. He was born March 12, 1945 in Houlton, Maine to Avis Virginia Dwyer and Stanley Emery Dwyer.

Gene was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. Gene was married to the love of his life, Pamela (Strout) Dwyer for 46 years. Pamela (Pammy) passed away on June 12, 2024 and Gene struggled without her by his side. Gene will be greatly missed by all of his family, friends, and his dog, Peaches.

Gene spent a lot of time working in the woods since he was very young. He enjoyed working on cars, driving trucks, shooting his guns, and bow shooting. Gene loved Pammy very much and all of his four legged "babies" (dogs) as well over the years. Gene loved to talk and he would talk to anyone and everyone. He loved to tell jokes, stories, and tease anyone that would listen. And he really loved to tease! If he teased you, you knew he cared about you!

Gene had a soft spot for animals, family, and all children. Gene and Pammy didn't have any biological children of their own, however, they loved so many children (nieces, nephews, and friends) as their own. Gene loved to spoil them and he had a way to make them all feel special. Gene especially loved spending time with Pammy and friends on motorcycle rides and 4-wheeler trips. Gene also enjoyed hunting.

After Pammy passed away, Gene enjoyed taking trips to Dairy Queen with his beloved poodle, Peaches, to get their special lunch with ice cream. It was comforting for him to go to a place where he used to go with Pammy. Thank you to the owners and staff at the Dairy Queen in Old Town for being so kind to Gene and making him always feel welcomed and loved.

Gene shared many stories about his military experiences as well as trips and adventures with family and friends. Gene loved his family, especially his six siblings.

Gene is survived by his siblings and their families; sister, Marlene Hogan, sister, Brenda (Jim) Hall, sister, Nancy (Bill) Malone, sister, Norma (Bruce) Malone, and sister, Jean Dwyer. He is also survived by his in-laws; brother, Stephen (Bonnie) Strout; sisters, Lucretia (Darryl) Niles, Gail (Sterling) Smith, Iona (Walter) Young, Wanita Allen, Bonnie (Allen) Chase, and Terrie (Tom) Allen. Gene is also survived by many special nieces and nephews. Along with his parents and parents-in-law, Gene was predeceased by his wife Pammy, brother, Emery Dwyer, and sister, Joanne McEwen.
