Evelyn Conley

Orrington - Evelyn Irene Costley (Pomeroy) Conley, 88, passed away January 22, 2014 with her children holding her. She was born December 1, 1925 in Waterville the daughter of Isiah and Esther Bither and raised by her adoptive parents Arthur and Estella Costley. Mom married our father William S. Pomeroy and later Chester Conley, both of whom pre-deceased her. She is survived by three children; Eugene Pomeroy Sr., and his wife Betty of Howland, Sharon and her husband Denis Blais of East Greenbush, NY, and Patricia and her husband Kenneth Gilbert of Orrington; sister Harriet Marshall of Dover, NH; eight grandchildren Gene Pomeroy Jr., Faith Roderick, David and Scott Clements, Allen Hartley, Marie Helmick, Bobbie-Jo and Steve Caron of Presque Isle; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was predeceased by two granddaughters, Terri-Lynn and Shawna-Jean Gilbert; six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Saturday January 25, 2014 at the Brewer Chapel of Brookings-Smith 55 South Main St., Brewer. Relatives and friends are invited to call from 11:00am until time of service. A Graveside committal service will be held this spring at the Marston Cemetery, Orrington.
