BANGOR – Floyd A. Seavey, 88, went to be with the Lord April 2, 2016 after a 7-month battle with illness. He was born February 1, 1928 in Presque Isle, the son of Johnson and Freda (Clair) Seavey.
Floyd graduated from Presque Isle High School, class of 1946. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army where we served his country with pride for 2 years in Louisiana, New Jersey and San Francisco. He was honorably discharged in 1948 and returned to Presque Isle where he met his wife, Marion who would be the love of his life. This April marked 67 years of marriage for them. Floyd spent most of his career in Sales and Sales Management with Jayson-Caron Corp. of Portland, and Imperial Distributors of Auburn, MA. Floyd took great pride in the special relationships that he formed with his accounts, and the level of trust that they extended him. He was his happiest spending summer weekends and vacations at his camp at St. Froid Lake with friends, family, and his two favorite dogs, Lexie and Katie. Also held in great esteem were his close friends, Fred, Jerry, Dana and Paul.
In addition to his parents, Floyd was predeceased by his daughter, Brenda Batchelder. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Marion Seavey, are his daughter, Rayma Chiarell, son, Kendall Seavey, his sister, Audrey Laskey and her husband, Willis; grandsons, Casey Taylor and his wife, Betsy, Nathan Chiarell and his wife, April and Jeremy Chiarell; great-grandchildren, Laura Taylor and Ashlynn and Morgan Chiarell; several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. A graveside service will be held 1pm Friday, April 8, 2016 at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor with Chaplain Carl Bergman officiating. All are invited to meet at the Superintendent’s Lodge, State Street Entrance at 12:45pm Friday.
