BANGOR - Our mother Frances Bartoletti passed away September 2, 2015 at Westgate Manor in Bangor. She was born January 24, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY, to Theodora and Anthony Palazzo; she was one of six sisters and two brothers, all of whom predeceased her.
Mommy married our father, Robert, on June 24, 1944 during the Second World War. In addition to us, their second child was Richard, who died at nine months of age. Frances attended schools in Brooklyn and particularly had an interest in music; she had a beautiful voice. Coming from a large family during a time that financial wealth was meager, her family life as a child was filled with an abundance of love, good food, and music, often with opera music, her father's passion. We will always remember our dear mother as the person who taught us how to love one another and our own children; the essentials of parenthood: providing, protecting, and setting the example. Even though mommy's memory was deteriorating she always asked, "how are the children, your husbands, and a final goodbye at the door was, be careful driving." "Once a mother, always a mother!"
We are Frances' daughters, Janet Amelia Kimball, and Denise Ann Healy. Frances also loved her sons-in-law, Philip R. Kimball, MD and Peter Healy; she could depend on them to provide and protect her daughters. Kellie Anne Greer, Kara Marie Greer, Morgan Chelsea Healy and Griffin Parker Healy will miss their grandmother. Christian Alejandro Quinones and Eliza Sophia Quinones will miss their great-grandmother. Frances will be remembered with love by Ava Collins.
Our mother's ashes will be buried with our father who passed away in 1997, in the Veteran's Cemetery in New Jersey. During the years that Frances lived at Westgate, the staff showed compassion and respect, which we are grateful for. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.BrookingsSmith.com.
