Francis R. Binette, 93, passed away August 28,2023, at the Bangor Maine Veterans Home. He was born February 3, 1930, in Old Town, the son of Leon and Claudia (Bilodeau) Binette.
Francis graduated from Old Town High School, class of 1948. After graduating, he worked at Bangor State Hospital for several years. He served in the Army from 1951-1953. He married Charlene Goodspeed in 1954. They were married for 65 years. He loved his family and the Red Sox and he enjoyed square dancing. After he retired from BMHI, he worked part-time at BIA in passenger service for another 40 years.
Francis is pre-deceased by his wife, Charlene, all of his siblings and his parents. He is survived by is his sons, Dan Binette and wife, Natalie of Sherman; Leon Binette and wife, Carolyn of Orrington; grandchildren, Hannah and husband Brian; Hillary and husband Christopher; Holly and husband Caleb; Jenna; Eric and wife Catherine; great granddaughters Mackenzie and Isabelle.
A Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, September 1, 2023, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Condolences to the family may be expressed to BrookingsSmith.com.
