Francis Jewett

HERMON - Francis "Sonny" L. Jewett, passed away August 4, 2022, while residing in Pennsylvania, with son, Gerald and daughter-in-law, Michelle. He was born November 2, 1930, in Steuben, ME, son of Merton and Rachel Jewett.
Sonny was predeceased by sons, Curtis Jewett and Frankie Jewett; and daughter, Wendy Jewett; grandchildren, Jamie, Ashley; and great-grandchildren, Scott, Lorelai, and Jayden. Sonny leaves behind 9 children, Susan Killoran and her husband, Pat, Dennis McLeod and his wife, Bette, daughter-in-law, Nancy, Frances Mallory, Karen Shaw, Donna Rush and her husband, William, Chad Jewett, Gerald Jewett and wife, Michelle, Florence Jewett, and Brad Jewett; grandchildren, Theresa, Shawn, Jennifer, Scott, Preston, Travis, Jimmy, Kaylee, Morgan, Kendra, Devin, Melissa, Phillip, Allen, Lynn, Clifford, Melanie, Matthew, Ericka, Adam, Allyson, Cody, Bruce, Jeffery, Kayla, Jared, Jessica, James; and 38 great-grandchildren. Sonny also leaves behind many dear friends and acquaintances from Dysart's Restaurant.
Sonny Served in the military during the Korean War from May 4, 1949 to November 3, 1952. His life long career was driving tractor trailer for Emery Waterhouse delivering to Trustworthy Hardware stores while simultaneously working part-time driving for other trucking companies, most notably driving the mail truck for Ken McAvey, longtime friend. Anyone who knew him well knew how much he loved old westerns and dining at Dysart's.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where a funeral service will be held, 10 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2022. Committal services will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Western Ave., Hampden.
