Bangor and Levant- Frank Donald Caulkins, 86, passed away November 29, 2019. He was born February 19, 1933 in Caribou, the son of Donald Frank and Esther (Peterson) Caulkins.
Frank served in the US Navy aboard the USS Monssen and the USS Steinaker during the Korean war from 1951 until 1953 and completed his Navy service in 1955 to return home to Maine. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to tell about his adventures.
He worked as a mineral driller for many years in the mountains and woods of Maine. In his later years he worked for OHI doing maintenance on their houses.
Frank was predeceased by his wife, Juliana Shanley Caulkins; sisters, Marjorie Kennedy and Gloria Nevells; brothers, Earl, Gary and Philip Caulkins.
He is survived by his daughters, Mary MacDonald of Bradley, Pamela Hart and her husband, James of Windsor, VA; sisters, Joan Shanley of Bangor, Caroline Lane of Buxton, Donna Nason of St. Albans and Linda Zotynia of Charleston; brothers, Elden of Levant, Ernest of Winterport and Allen of Newburgh; granddaughters, Amy and Stephanie MacDonald and Kristen and Lindsey Hart; great grandchildren, MaKayla Marsh and Gabriel Latoni.
Funeral Prayers and Rite of Committal will be prayed 11 AM Friday, December 6, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
