Frank J. Conners, 85, passed away peacefully October 30, 2018 with his family at his side, following a long illness.
He was born in Bangor March 23, 1933 son of Stanley and Nina Conners.
Frank was a graduate of John Bapst High School, and he attended Husson College and the University of Southern Maine. In 1957 Frank married his high school sweetheart, Geneva Malone. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. Frank proudly followed his father and brothers’ footsteps with a career in the railroad industry. He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Frank enjoyed watching New England sports teams, especially the Red Sox. He enjoyed music, singing, dancing and playing tennis.
He was predeceased by a special grandson, David Adams, brothers William, Stanley and Linwood and sisters Althea Washburn and Gloria Cormier.
Surviving are his devoted wife of 61 years, Geneva; five loving daughters, Jeannie Sullivan and husband Butch of Bangor, Cindy Carlisle and husband Brian of Newburgh, Nina Conners and husband Michael Wood of Hampden, Laurie Stevenson and husband Kevin of Bangor, Lisa Lower and husband Fred of Bangor; thirteen grandchildren, Crystal and Josh Sullivan, Broc Carlisle and wife Morgen, Jill Prendergast and husband Zach, Timothy Carlisle and girlfriend Allison, Katie Adams and husband Robb Dufour, Courtney Utz and husband Dan, Lindsey, Kyle, and Michaela Stevenson, Alexis and McKenzie Lower, five great grandchildren, Eliza and Gavin Prendergast, Emily Adams and Jaxon Dufour, Greyson Utz ; special granddaughter-in-law, Marcela Ruge; two sisters, Joyce Caffery of Watertown, MA, Rosemary Malcolm of Yarmouth; many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Westgate Center for their loving and exceptional care of Frank.
Relatives and friends are invited to call 2-4 pm. Sunday November 4, 2018 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor. A Funeral Mass will be held 11 am. Monday November 5, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ohio St. Bangor. The family invites all to share conversation and refreshments in the parish hall, following the Mass.
