We're saying goodbye to a wonderful man, Frank O'Kane Gott. Born February 15, 1960 in Bar Harbor to Norman and Christina Gott. Frank passed away peacefully at home, family by his side, the morning of November 18, 2022.
Frank retired from Abel Yacht Yard after a lifelong career in boat building and restoration.
Frank was a true Renaissance Man. Everything he did, he did with or for family and friends. He knew how to have a good time, injecting fun and his quick wit into life so EVERYONE had a good time. Building the family camp on Lower Sabao Lake was a dream come true. It was the best of times. Life with Frank included lobstering, clamming, picking blueberries and cranberries at Sabao, harvesting the gifts the sea and land provides. He was a master chef and a baker too, and holiday feasts were spectacular, that often included his specialty spirits. He was happiest when entertaining, and cooking for any occasion.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Katie; sons, Albert and his fiance Lindsey, Curtis and his wife Lindsay; he was Grampa to Natalie and Lincoln, and Papa Frank to Bryson, Quamere, Addelynn, and Julio, his mother Christina, favorite sister Maria and her husband Mark, brother Dale, nephews Nick, Justin, David and Tony and their families. He had so many effing friends we can't possibly list them here. You know who you are. Frank was predeceased by his father Norman, brothers Billy and Bruce.
A graveside service will be held 1:00 PM, Friday, December 9, 2022 at Mountain View Cemetery in Town Hill. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
