Frank Mroz

Ellsworth and Manchester, NH – Col. Frank Michael Mroz, MD, died unexpectedly at his residence in Ellsworth July 25, 2013. He was born July 6, 1947 in Manchester, NH the Son of Joseph L. and Helen (Kwarciany) Mroz, Sr. Frank graduated from Boston University in 1969 and went onto Albany Medical School where he graduated in 1973. He went on to do his internship and residency at Wilford Hall Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Frank did a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital. He served 16 years in the United States Air Force, followed by another 16 years in the United States Army Reserves. In 1978 Frank married Paula (Knittel) Mroz, and began a 31 year career in private Radiology practice in Bangor. Frank was a Philanthropist who supported many charitable organizations. He enjoyed a wide range of hobbies including traveling, photography, and amateur radio operation. Frank had an engaging and expressive personality. He enjoyed all of his activities with great enthusiasm. His favorite place to be was with his family. Frank was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents Frank was predeceased by his sister Nancy Mroz. He is survived by his wife Paula (Knittel) Mroz of Manchester, NH; daughter Katherine (Mroz) and her husband Joshua Kunn and their son Maxwell Kunn of Bangor; son Matthew Mroz and his wife Jennifer of Harrison; daughter Caroline Mroz of New York, New York; brother Joseph Mroz of Manchester, NH. A funeral will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday July 31, 2013 at Brookings-Smith 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until time of service. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center Street, Bangor, immediately following the service.
