Frank Edward Tetreault, 94, passed away peacefully February 27, 2016, at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born May 6, 1921, in Marshfield, VT, the son of Noel A. and Corrine (Comeau) Tetreault.
Frank proudly served his country for over 20 years. First with the U.S. Army during World War II, followed by almost 20 years with the U.S. Air Force. His service brought him around the world, with stations in Africa, Italy, England and Korea. After retirement from the service he owned and operated a small convenience store in Northern Maine. Frank loved animals and had many cats and dogs throughout his life. He was a huge sports fan and loved watching all kinds of sport, most importantly the Red Sox. Frank liked tinkering with projects and enjoyed fixing things around the house. He enjoyed fishing and hunting throughout his life. Frank’s favorite beverage was Mountain Dew, which he drank daily for almost 50 years.
He is survived by his loving granddaughter who cared for him throughout his life, Jamie Ford and husband Kyle of Hong Kong; two sons, Noel Tetreault and wife Mun-I of Colorado Springs, CO, Glenn Tetreault and wife Evelyn of Dover-Foxcroft; and grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Isabellah, Justin, Cameo and Cooper. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a daughter, Darcie Madore; a son, Dean Tetreault; and the mother of his children, Janet Edgecomb.
Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 10 – 11 AM, Tues, March 1, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where a funeral service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will be at a later date at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta. Gifts in Frank’s memory may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693 Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401.
