Franklin “Hank” Hews, 92, passed away May 29, 2022, after a long illness. He was born in Hampden, August 30, 1929 the son of Harold E. and Mary E. (Cowan) Hews.In addition to being a wonderful husband, father and grandfather he was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed going with his brothers, grandsons and great grandsons.
Surviving in addition to his wife Jean of 58 years are his daughter, Brenda Bourdeau of Dover Foxcroft; son Gregg Hews and his wife, Debbie of Tipp City, Ohio; two step-daughters, Linda Powers and husband Richard of Hermon; Laurie Fullerton and husband Michael of Glenburn; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, John Hews and his wife Brenda of Millinocket; many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son Bruce Hews, stepson Paul Shaw and three brothers, Richard, Harold and Paul.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 12 pm to 2 pm, Sunday June 26, 2022 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
