Franklin G. Hinckley, 78, died unexpectedly on October 25, 2024, at a Bangor Hospital. He was born on May 3, 1946, in Portland, the only child of Franklin G. Hinckley and Myrna (Craine) Hinckley.
Frank graduated from Deering High School in 1964 and from the University of Maine Orono in 1968. He married the love of his life, Jane Toothaker, in September 1969. They first settled in Connecticut before his work brought them to Bangor. They enjoyed 55 years of marriage and lived in their house in Brewer for the last 51 years.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Jane (Toothaker) Hinckley, are his two sons, James Glazier Hinckley of Rocky Hill, Connecticut, and David William Hinckley, his wife Amy, and their three children, Miles, Lauren, and Paige of Niantic, Connecticut. He was predeceased by his parents.

He was a dedicated fan of Boston sports, University of Maine Hockey, and all activities of his children and grandchildren. He and Jane traveled extensively and some of his passions were playing tennis with friends and seeking out dining adventures with his family.

The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments, 3 pm. to 5 pm. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. Bangor. A private service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
