FREDA GRANT
DEDHAM - Freda Grant, 92, passed away January 29, 2021, after a brief illness. She was born October 18, 1928, in Weston, the daughter of Charles and Alma (Whitney) McPhee.
Freda graduated from Danforth High School, Class of 1945, and graduated from Husson College, Class of 1947. Freda worked many years at Savings and Loan in Bangor, Bangor Daily News and she retired from GTE Sylvania in 1991.
Freda loved gardening, playing cribbage, bowling, traveling, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, the ocean and living on Phillips Lake for over 60 years. She was a longtime member of the Community Club of Dedham and the Dedham Congregational Church.
Freda was predeceased by her husband of over 20 years, Lester H. Grant; brothers, Percy, Ainsley and Dean McPhee. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Marshall and her husband, Don, of Ellsworth, Cindy Rickman and her husband, Joe, of Holden, and Vickie Russell of Glenburn; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends are welcome to call from 10–11:45AM, Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St, Bangor. A private funeral service for the family will be held immediately following visitation.
