Gail Durant
January 18, 1951 – August 4, 2023

Carmel – Gail “GG” Durant 72, went home to the Lord and Savior on August 4, 2023. She was born January 18, 1951.
Gail spent the younger years of her life running around in the streets of Hermon as a wild child. In the 90’s she started to attend church at Carmel Full Gospel where she was able to turn her life over to Jesus and start down a new path that she would never look back from. It was at this small church in Carmel that she made lifelong friendships and met the love of her life, Dan. Dan and Gail spent 17 blissful years together, until Dan succumbed to illness in late 2019. Gail never recovered from this heartbreak.
Along with being a devout Christian, Gail had many talents. She loved design and decorating. Her home was always well kept with fresh decorations. Her favorite style was “country” theme. She was also a very gifted painter and loved the ocean. During her later years, as an avid Bigfoot enthusiast, Gail spent much of her time as Admin of Colorado Bigfoot where she created great friendships and was an integral part of the group.
Before her bout of illness, Gail could be found every Sunday at New Beginnings Church, with Pastors Paul and Kim Warf where she was a faithful member for the past 18 years. Gail cherished her church family and friends dearly.
Gail was predeceased by her loving husband, Dan, stepson Adam, and mother Virginia (Deperry) Overlock.
Gail is survived by her stepdaughter, Amy Durant, who has been a great support for Gail for the last several years, her granddaughter, Lindsey who she adored and was always so proud of, stepson Andy, and his sons, Deven, Bladen and Kyler as well as her daughter, Michelle Bates. Additional family includes a brother, Darrel Clement, niece Kristi and her children, Nathan, Andrew and Emma.
Gail also leaves behind many friends who have been like family. To mention a few; Cindy Newcomb, Kim Warf and Stacey King-Watson. A special thanks goes to the neighbors and friends that have helped with housework, yard work, and taking care of her cat, Garfield.
A celebration of life will be held at New Beginnings Church (1606 Hammond St Bangor) on September 2, 2023, at 11 am.
Gifts of condolence or financial assistance can be sent to Amy Durant at 5 Francis Dr Levant ME 04456.
