GAIL MARIE MCMULLAN
EDDINGTON
Gail Marie McMullan, 54, passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer August 29th, 2022, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 26th, 1968, in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of John McMullan and Marilyn Rosato.
While she was born in Baltimore, her childhood was spent in Wayne, PA. She met Robert (Bob) Carlson at the Meadowlands during the Grateful Dead summer tour of ‘89, after which she proudly made Maine her home, raising three beautiful children; Ranae (27), Garrett (25), and Maggie (18), whom she loved dearly. She was especially proud of all three of her children’s accomplishments; Ranae’s passion for teaching, Garrett’s dedication to his law enforcement career, and Maggie’s new found love in the restaurant industry. She looked forward to hearing about Ranae’s classroom stories, checking the Katahdin Region News for highlights from Garrett’s work accomplishments, and hearing about Maggie’s recent travels.
She started her career in 2001 at the Northeast Occupational Exchange in Bangor. It was a large part of her life as she was a dedicated employee for 20 years. She made many friends in her workplace and cherished their friendships. She loved spending time at her camp with family and friends. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening and music, especially going to concerts with her close friends, Molly and Carol. After she and Bob separated, she later met Tony Wentworth and they were together for the last 5 years. He took care of her right up until the end of her courageous fight.
Gail will be most remembered and missed for her sense of humor, her laughter and love of life. She carried strong Irish pride, and was particularly gifted in her “Irish Goodbyes”. Her memory will never fade from those who knew and loved her.
Surviving her are her children; Ranae Carlson (Matt Bray), Garrett Carlson (Jordanna Sprague), and Maggie Carlson; their father, Robert (Bob) Carlson (Karen Begin); her significant other, Tony Wentworth; her father, Jack (Sharon) McMullan; her siblings; Brian McMullan (Mia Eglinton), Maureen Vernon, and Amy (Steve) Hill; her many nieces and nephews who she spoke of often and fondly as they were a big part of her life; and her very close friends, Molly and Carol. Gail has many other family members and friends who are surviving her that made a large impact on her life. She is predeceased by her mother and step-father; Marilyn and Jim Rosato; and her two brothers; Tommy and J.P McMullan.
A memorial service will be held 11AM at Camp Roosevelt, 45 Camp Roosevelt Road, Eddington, with a reception following. Flowers may be sent to Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at Brookingssmith.com.
