Gail A. White, 87, died unexpectedly December 21, 2022 at home. She was born August 12, 1935, in Bangor, the daughter of Winston and Ethel (Burr) Connor.
Gail graduated from Bangor High School class of 1953. Soon after she began working as a telephone switchboard operator, and married her husband Lewis White. They settled in Belfast where they lived until moving to Northport in 1996.
Gail was active in her community and had many hobbies. She spent many hours working for the Democratic Party and hosted events in her home. She was an avid bowler winning trophies, and played golf, as well as curling at the Belfast Curling Club. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, playing majong, and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. She frequently got together with her friends for lunch or breakfast, including monthly class reunion lunches with her high school friends. She was a talented artist as well, sharing and selling her santas painted on driftwood and gourds.
Surviving are her daughter, Jennifer Sprague and her children, Megan Rinko, Matthew Hatch, Ariel Sprague, and Hannah Sprague; her daughter, Stephanie Grass, her husband Troy, and their children Nicholas Grass and Korren Grass, a brother, Richard Connor, and a sister, Linda, great grandchildren Ethan Rinko and Leira Gunlock, and many neices and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Lewis White, brother and sister in law Robert and Virginia Connor, and sister in law Judy Connor.
A celebration of life will be planned in the spring, date to be announced.
