Garrett Giles

Garrett “Lane” Giles, 24, of Bangor, passed away on May 22nd, 2024 at the time and place of his choosing. Lane lived a life bigger than most (seldom without a smile on his face). He was quick to lend a hand and quicker with a joke. People gravitated to his bright soul and kind smile.
Lane was born in Miami, Oklahoma, March 31st, 2000. He graduated Miami High School a talented athlete, golfer, and friend to all. Upon moving to Maine, where he briefly attended school at the University of Maine, he began working at Dicks Sporting Goods, where he found a home with friends. He was loved by coworkers and customers alike. Lane was an avid outdoorsman, hiker, and golfer. He was happiest outside, surrounded by friends and nature.
Lane is survived by his parents, Stephany Giles of Bucksport, ME and Steven + Eve Giles of Miami, Oklahoma; his siblings, Gabriella Lane, Justin Giles, and Jane Giles; niece, Laykin Lane; numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who are family.
Friends and relatives are welcome to call 5-7PM, Wednesday, May 29th, 2024, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, ME, to celebrate Lane’s life. He will be returned to the mountain he loved so much. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
