Gary Brown

Gary Howard Brown, 72, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, at Ross Manor, Bangor. He was born April 12, 1951 in Lewiston the son of Howard F. and Cecile B. (Morin) Brown.

Gary graduated from Orono High School and then joined the Air National Guard specializing in communications. He then went on to work for many years with the telephone company, that had many name changes, until his retirement. Gary enjoyed his time with the Veazie Volunteer Fire Department and was on the Board of the Veazie Water District. There are many fond memories of friends and time spent at camp at Christies Campground in Newport.

He is survived by his children; Barbara and Shawn, John and Lesa, Christopher and Lindsey, and Annie and Travis; grandchildren, Thomas and Tierra, Samuel, Michael, Gabriel, and Silas; sisters, Diana and William, and Deborah; special niece Erinn; Gabriel’s father, Wesley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved Ruth A. Doyle Brown, his wife of over 30 years, a sister Gail, and a son Jeffrey. The family would like to thank Ross Manor and Gentiva Hospice for their care and compassion.

Services will be private for the family. Interment will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Veazie Fire Department, 1084 Main Street, Veazie, ME 04401. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
