Gary A. Miner
Glenburn
Gary A. Miner, 44, died unexpectedly December 29, 2021, at a Bangor hospital with his loving partner by his side. He was born November 4, 1977, the son of Thomas and Jane Miner.
After high school, he did some traveling then found his way back home. He worked at various jobs before starting with Johnson and Jordan Mechanical. From there, he began working for Jackson Lab in Bar Harbor where he worked his way up to Site Superintendent for the Engineering Department and has been employed for the last 11 1/2 years. Jackson Lab became Gary’s family away from home.
Gary was a very creative and talented man. Skilled in carpentry, plumbing and electrical, he could build or fix anything. He loved doing anything outdoors with his boys, Cayden & Dawson. Hiking, camping and Ice fishing were a few of his favorites. Cooking was another one of Gary’s passions that he was excellent at. Gary loved to talk to people. He made so many friends throughout his lifetime just by striking up random conversations. He was known for his infectious smile and outgoing personality, but most importantly for his dedication as a father. He was a man who put his family above all else.
Most recently, Gary and his family established their forever home in Glenburn. There, they worked hard inside and out renovating house and property. Gary dreamed of making their home a working farm with animals, vegetables, a sugar shack and a farm pond. He worked tirelessly toward making that dream come true for his family. His pride was evident any time he talked about his visions for the farm and the future with his family.
Surviving in addition to the love of his life, Angela Corbett are his sons, Cayden and Dawson Miner of Glenburn; parents, Thomas and Jane Miner of Holden; sister, Mandy McFadden of Idaho and nephew, Gavon of Oregon. Also, very special to Gary were his bonus daughters, Stephanie Thompson, husband Steve and children Lucas, Hunter and Claire; Tiffany Haas and husband Tyler, all of whom he loved as his own; his special friend and “brother” Rob Gagner, wife Jill and family; and countless other family and friends who Gary cherished.
The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments while celebrating Gary’s life 2 to 4 pm. Sunday January 23, 2022 at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith 163 Center St., Bangor.
