Bangor - Gary K. Munson, Sr., 85, died September 9, 2019, peacefully in his sleep. He was born April 21, 1934 in Dennysville, the son of James and Eliza (Hayward) Munson.
Gary was a 1952 graduate of Dennysville High School. He married Lillian M. Smith in 1955 and moved their young family to the Bangor area in 1960. Gary was an accomplished carpenter & cabinet maker and was a retired member of the Carpenters Union. He was also a long-time member of the local Gold Wing riders club.
Gary was pre-deceased by his wife, Lillian, and by one son, William L. as well as brothers James and Roland and sister, Natalie.
He is survived by son Gary, Jr. & his wife, Fern of Bangor; son James of Portland, OR; daughter Mary Waite and her husband, Scott of Kenduskeag; daughter Anna Trundy and her husband, Zach of Ingram, TX; daughter Juanita McTigue and her husband, Mark of Bangor; sister Myrna Tilton of Milford; brother Norris & his wife, Dot of Glenburn; brother Reginald of Lubec; brother Richard of Goldsboro, NC; brother Alvin and his wife, Teresa of Haines City, FL; brother Loring of Lubec; brother Daniel and his wife, Charlotte of Bucksport; sister-in-law Donna Davis of Bangor; brother-in-law Al Smith of Baldwin; grandchildren Lynwood, Bryan, Charity, Shawn, Cyndil, Derek, Valerie, Vicki, Helena, Tzara, Ophelia & Roland; seventeen great-grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.

A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at the Kenduskeag Village cemetery, with the Rev. Garnett Chute, pastor of the Hermon Baptist Church, officiating.
