G. Scott West, aged 56, passed away on June 30, 2024, in Bangor, Maine. Born on August 14, 1967, in Newport News, Virginia, Scott grew up to be a man larger than life and was known as a comedic genius often described as the life of the party, his "Scotty-isms", and bright smile. Scott always had a knack for putting other people first. A devoted family man with a love for music (especially AC/DC), motorcycle riding, road trips, family vacations, Red Sox and Patriots. He had a passion for DIY, known for his hard work always improving and repairing his home, cars, yard, and anything he put his mind to.

Scott graduated with an undergraduate degree in Engineering from the University of Maine and later earned an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. Scott was widely recognized for his leadership in construction quality and operational excellence, leveraging a strong background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, process control, and national construction quality. Beginning at Kenduskeag Engineering and advancing through the management ranks at Bath Iron Works, he later held a director role at Mortenson Construction and vice president at Granite Construction, focusing on quality and operational excellence.

As co-founder of the Construction Quality Executives Council (CQEC) in 2008, founder of GoWest Quality Solutions in 2022, and most recently a founding member of the Design and Construction Excellence Exchange, Scott played a pivotal role in industry associations and project management. Known for his energetic engagement and facilitation skills, he guided numerous colleagues to professional and personal growth, leaving a lasting impact on the industry.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Christy West; children, Samuel and Sophia West; mother, Alice West and father, Ward West; mother-in-law, Paula Noddin; siblings, Diana Rice and husband Andy, Cory West and wife Sue; half-brother Ricky Brisendine and wife Ronda, half-sister, Anita (Sissy) Brisendine; brothers-in-law, Craig Noddin and wife Thoma, Curt Noddin and wife Janice; sisters-in-law, Cathy Edwards and husband Charles, Carol Bailey and husband Bill; along with nieces and nephews; Benjamin Edwards, Ryan Rice, Ethan Rice, Adriana Fehlau, Catherine Cote, CJ Noddin, Alec Noddin, Jade Noddin, Connor Noddin, and Sean Bailey. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Amy West, and father-in-law, Neil Noddin.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held at 3 pm. on July 12, 2024 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, ME 04401. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 2 pm to 3 pm. Attendees are invited to share their happiest memories and the impact Scott had on all their lives.

The family invites all to the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St. following the service for light refreshments followed by a toast in honor of the incredible person he was.
