Gaston L'Italien

Passadumkeag - Gaston L’Italien, 78, died unexpectedly on July 21, 2019. He was born October 15, 1940, in St. Jean de la Lande, Canada, the son of Wilfrid and Derilda (Blanchet) L’Italien. At a very young age he started a career in the Forestry Industry. He owned his first truck at the age of 17. He was a very skilled equipment operator, including modern day wood harvesting machines. Gaston married his childhood sweetheart, Huguette Pelletier, and celebrated 56 years together. He was hard working, generous, kind, patient and compassionate. Gaston valued his family, his church, and sought to be of service to others. He joined the Knights of Columbus, Lincoln Counsel # 569 in 1969, and was a Sir Knight in the 4th degree assembly. A former Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator. He found joy in the successes of his children, grandchildren, and great granddaughters. Gaston is survived by his loving wife, Huguette. His sister, Marie-Ange. His children, Marco wife Jean, Brigitte husband Jim, Steven partner Robert. Grandchildren Adam wife Danielle, Nicholas fiancee Shannon, Zachory fiancee Anna-Elizabeth, Jamie wife Katherine, Aericka fiancee Anthony, Tyler wife Elissa, Seth and great granddaughters Layna and Ariana. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 18 River Rd, Howland. Interment will be in St. Matthews Cemetery, West Enfield. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church parish hall following the Mass.
