Gene Richard Curless,79, passed away May 26, 2020, peacefully at home with his family by his side.
He was born December 8, 1940 in Caswell, son of Noah Richard and Josephine Rosalia (Rancore) Curless
He graduated Limestone High School at 18, then joined the civil service department at Loring Air Force Base. He then enlisted in the Air National Guard a few years later. Gene spent over 40 years in the Air Guard and civil service, he loved every minute of every day serving his country. He married Deborah Kane in 1972 and divorced in 1977.
Gene loved gardening, fishing, bike riding, walking, being outdoors in nature. He loved helping people and doing odd jobs for his friends and neighbors. In his younger years he loved working on the family farm taking care of the animals. Gene was a great brother and father to his five children. It made him happy to help people out and consistently donated to several charities. He just loved people and helping anyway he could. He always had a smile on his face.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his friend, Barbara Cameron, whom Gene loved dearly.
He is survived by his loving family; Five children, Amy Poulin, Heather, Lisa, James, and Gene Curless; eight grandchildren Gracie, Gabriella, Marcus, Marshall, Jonathan, Adelianne, Chelsea , and Brian Jr; brother, James Curless and wife, Phyllis, and their family; sister, Connie and her son, Kenneth her daughter, Stacie and their families; Sharon Moffat who he considered the love of his life and his friend Spike.
A special thanks of appreciation to all his neighbors in Levant for their friendship, kindness and caring over the years. He talked about and loved each of you.
A celebration of life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
