GLENBURN & CORINTH – George C. Frost, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 26, 2020 at a Brewer Healthcare Facility. He was born on June 9, 1932 in Mount Vernon, Maine, the son of Scott and Julia (Williams) Frost.
He grew up in Aroostook County and at a young age started driving trucks hauling potatoes. At age 19 he began his career working for Bangor & Aroostook Railroad, where he worked for the next 25 years. George was a long time employee of the Corinth Transfer station and hauled scrap metal with his famous little truck. He was a hard worker his entire life and would work any job to support his family. An avid hunter, George enjoyed deer hunting in the fall, and going fishing throughout the year.
George attended the Charleston Pentecostal Church for over 60 years. On January 19, 1959 he married Adine Wheeler and together they shared 61 years, raised four children, and built a wonderful life together.
In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his eight siblings. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Adine Frost; son, Stephen Frost and wife, Beverly; daughters, Beverly Moore and husband, Rick, Darlene Fisher and husband, Brian, and Melissa and husband Col. Bradford Baumann; grandchildren, Rachel Niles and husband, Jeramie, Gregg Frost, Nathaniel Moore, Julie-Anne Johnson, Joseph Moore and wife, Jessica, Jezreel Moore, A1C Sarah Fisher, Ariel Fisher, Joshua Baumann, Jonathan Baumann, Andrew Baumann, and Elizabeth Baumann; great-grandchildren, Mya Frost, Charity and Chloe Johnson, and Noah Moore; many nieces and nephews; and special nephew, Tom Drake.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to Heather and the nursing staff at Brewer Rehab for all of their excellent care.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm, Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Charleston Church, 185 Main Rd, Charleston, ME with Rev. Matthew Ward officiating. Relative and friends are welcomed to call from 1 pm until time of service, Friday. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
