VEAZIE – George Nelson Spencer, 80, passed away peacefully June 8, 2021. He was born April 6, 1941 in Bangor, the son of Charles A. and Evelyn M. Spencer.
George retired from Bangor-Hydro in March of 1994 after 32 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being at camp on Eagle Lake, and spending time with his beloved family. In his younger years he loved going out dancing and bowling with his wife, Charlotte.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte; brothers, Charles and Gene Spencer; sisters, Elverda Wilson and Janet Sleeper.
He is survived by his daughters, Jeanine Spencer and her long-time companion, Randy Perry, Georgia Bates, and Evelyn Spencer Malicky Brainard and her husband, John; son, George Spence Jr. and his wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Brent and Barry Moody, Katherine Malicky, Connor and Tanner Spencer; sister, Frances Lindquist; and a very special nephew, Wyatt Spencer.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Veazie. Those who wish to remember George in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
