BREWER – Georgia “Skeet” Thurlow, 81, passed away March 26, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 4, 1938, in Bangor, the daughter of Frank and Helen (McDonald) Bradsell.
Skeet graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1958. She worked at Eastern Maine Medical Center, and retired after 25 years of service. Skeet enjoyed watching reality TV shows, shopping, and playing cards and dominos. Skeet loved decorating and dressing up for holidays, enjoyed wintering in Florida, and especially loved all things involving her grandchildren. Everyone that knew her, loved her. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We will sincerely miss our best friend.
In addition to her parents, Skeet was predeceased by her husband of over 50 loving years, Dana Thurlow. She is survived by her sons, Robert Blackman Jr. and wife, Cindy of Auburn, Gary Blackman of Florida; daughters, Merrianne Perry and husband, David of Brewer, Penny Riva of Brewer; a son-in-law, Gene Riva of Brewer; three step-children, Lance Thurlow, Victoria Freeman, and Lee Thurlow; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com
