OLD TOWN - Gerald F. Pelletier, 96, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at his home. He was the widower of Miriam (Stearns) Pelletier. Gerald was born February 25, 1924, in Old Town, the son of Francis A. and Emma M. (Pelletier) Pelletier.
Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force for which he took part in the Battle of Normandy. After his time in the service, he returned to Maine and graduated from the University of Maine, Orono with a degree in Business Administration. Gerald was also a loyal member of Holy Family Church in Old Town. He spent a few years in Connecticut where he worked and retired from The Stanley Work. He also worked for the New Britain Senior Center.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gerald was predeceased by two brothers, Clement and Philip; and one sister, Theresa Pelletier. He is survived by two daughters, Judith and her husband, Robert, of Connecticut, and Barbara D'Agostino, of Massachusetts; son, Thomas Gorner and his wife, Cindy, of North Carolina; brother, Earl “Pinky”, and his wife, Ella Mae, of Montana; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Gerald also leaves behind his very special caregiver, Fawn Buska, who he called "The Lady of the House."
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Resurrection of the Lord Parish, Holy Family Church, 429 Main St., Old Town, Monday, January 11, 2021 at 10am. Please be mindful of others by practicing social distancing, wearing a face covering, that staff will be conducting contact tracing, and be aware that the number of people allowed in the building at one time is limited.
