GLENBURN - Gilbert E. Hobson, beloved husband of Trudy (Lawrence) Hobson, 79, died unexpectedly November 1, 2021, at a Bangor hospital. He was born March, 26, 1942, in Mount Vernon, New York, the son of Gilbert W. and Doris W. (Swallow) Hobson.
Gilbert graduated from AB Davis High School in Mount Vernon, New York. Following graduation, he enlisted in U.S. Airforce. He retired from Delta Airlines after 26 years. He also worked for Quality Jewelers and Hollywood Slots. He loved woodworking, target shooting, and being with his family.
He is survived by his six loving children, Peggy Paradis, Lisa Weaver, Terri Nadeau, and her husband, Richard, Greg Hobson, Pam Ireland, and her husband, Paul, Joe Russell and his wife, Annie; sister, Beverly Weigand; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gilbert was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Edwards.
A private memorial service will be held at Brookings-Smith.
