Gladys Allura King, 90, passed away May 29, 2021, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born June 6, 1930 in Perham, the daughter of Irving King Sr. and Lena (Johnson) King.
Gladys graduated from Washburn High School in the Class of 1947, and then went on to graduate from the New Brunswick Bible Institute in 1950. She held various jobs at Ross Manor over the years of employment. Gladys loved knitting and crocheting. She was a longtime member of the West Hampden Baptist Church, Hampden.
She is survived by a son, John King Sr. of Glenburn; two sisters, Hazel Frost of Belfast, Stella McBreirty of Caribou; grandchildren, John Jr., Danielle, and James; great grandchildren, Alexis King and Ronan King.
Graveside funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor, with Pastor Michael Lynn, pastor of the West Hampden Baptist Church, presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at 1:30 PM, Sunday, at the Superintendents Lodge, 1048 State Street Entrance, Bangor.
