On October 12, 2021, our mother, Gloria J. Carroll, 87, gained her wings and took the express train to heaven. She was born May 18, 1934 in St. John, New Brunswick to Frederick and Aleen (Cameron) Nason and the youngest of 6 children.
Mom was treasured by her family and all who knew her. She taught us to love all people, to be kind, generous, and respectful of others. Mom taught us compassion for others and gave us our love of music and nature. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Theresa A. Carroll and Joseph McOscar, Kenneth J. Carroll and Shirley, Keith Carroll and Suzanne Lamanna,, Dan and Rita Carroll, Diane Wilcoxen, Joy and Nick Hess. She is also survived by special daughter-in-law, Rita, who she loved and who along with her husband, Dan, daughter Theresa and son-in-law Joseph, cared for Gloria in her later years. She is also survived by grandchildren Amber Tarbell, Alicia Carroll, Jessica Tharp, Mark Carroll, Brian Carroll, Tonya McAlpin and several great grandchildren. She leaves special friend Theresa Hegarty, daughter-in-law Helen Carroll, and many extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Edward A. Carroll, her son Wayne, and infant son Frederick, as well as her siblings.
The family would like to express thanks to Dr. Kendra Paradis, and St. Joseph’s Hospice, in Bangor, Maine for the exceptional care that she received from them during her last months.
A memorial service will be held 12:00 PM, Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Constantia Episcopal Church. Interment will be at West Monroe Cemetery following the service.
