Gordon W. “Wes” Wilcox, Jr. passed away October 24, 2021, after a long battle with cancer, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born in Petersburg, VA., March 10, 1957 the son of Gordon W. and Frances G. (Pitts) Wilcox, Sr.
Wes loved the simple things in life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and most of all being called Papa. He enjoyed antique cars and spending time working on them with his brothers. Wes loved giving unique nicknames to his family and friends. He loved to tell stories, hear a good joke and make people laugh. Wes had his own special language with his many grandchildren, nieces and nephews who were his greatest treasures. He will truly be missed by many.
Surviving are his devoted companion, Vincetta,”Chetta” Gale of Belfast;
Three children, Vicky Veillette Smith and husband Matt of FL., Christopher Veillette and wife Kristi of Carmel, Norman Veillette and companion Lisa Lambert of Lincoln; brothers, Richard Eaton and wife Guila of Levant, David Eaton and companion Gail Allard of Bangor, Philip Wilcox and wife Kathy of FL., Chris Wilcox Sr. and wife Heather of Glenburn.
A celebration of his life will be held 10:00 am Friday, October 29, 2021 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St. Bangor, followed by a reception at the family reception center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., Bangor. Private burial will take place.
