Harold Bragg

January 10, 1916 — September 28, 2016

Bangor - Harold M. Bragg, 100, passed away September 28, 2016 at the home of his granddaughter Kelly Walden. He was born January 10, 1916 in Stacyville Maine. Predeceased by his wife, Trudy Bragg. He graduated from Bangor High School in 1934. Harold then enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed overseas. Returning home he became a barber on Warren Street in Bangor. In 1968 he entered the motel business in Texas and Arkansas returning back to Bangor in 1984. They were long time members of Grace United Methodist Church where they were both very active. He served in many capacities within the church. He volunteered at Eastern Maine Medical Center for 31 years delivering flowers and cards. Also involved with delivering Meals for Me. Surviving is one step daughter Sandra Lowe Gordon of Largo, FL; One sister Dorothy Treworgy of Veazie; nephew Richard Treworgy and his daughters, Jodie Griffith, Jane Hewes and Jean Weeks; Three granddaughters Audrey Weaster of Richmond TX, Kelly Walden and husband Hank Langill of Bangor, and Karen Conner of Bullard TX. Seven great-grandchildren, Shanna, Tonya, Marcus, Chase, Brianna of Texas, Courtney who had a special relationship with her grandparents, and Judson of Orono; Great-great grandchildren, Logan Coltart of Orono, Trey, Devin, Nathan, Anthony, Donovan, and Nicholas all of Texas. He was also predeceased by Matthew Rios.
The family gives special thanks to his hospice nurse, Deb for his care and for the thoughtfulness of the family.
A celebration of Harold’s life to be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 4, 2016 at the Grace United Methodist Church, 193 Union St., Bangor with pastor, Gretchen Casey, officiating. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the Church fellowship Hall immediately following the service. Interment will with Military Honors will be held in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Those willing to remember Harold in a special way may contribute in his memory to Grace United Methodist Church memorial fund. 193 Union Street Bangor 04401.
