BANGOR - Harold Burton Leeman, 83, died April 30, 2014 at the Maine Veterans’ Home, Bangor. He was born August 1, 1930 in Bangor, son of Bernard C. and Mabel F. (Wilson) Leeman.
He was a graduate of Bangor High School and a four-year veteran in the USAF, during the Korean War. Harold worked thirty-four and a half years for the telephone company. He was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Lodge #83 AF & AM of Bangor, American Legion Post #0138, Winterport, the Telephone Pioneers and the Bangor Lodge of Elks #244.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Julia “Nina” (Philbrook) Leeman of Bangor; one daughter, Susan (Leeman) Bruns of Bangor, two sons, Michael S. Leeman and his wife, Nancy of Hermon, Harold B. Leeman, Jr. and his wife, Karen of Bangor; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Dana and a granddaughter, Dayna, three sisters, Evelyn Thornton, Bernice Kelley and Marjorie Leeman and one brother, Frank W. Leeman.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5 to 7pm Friday May 2, 2014 at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center Street, Bangor, where a funeral service will be held 10am Saturday, May 3rd. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
