Levant - Harriet was born in Ipswich, Massachusetts, during The Great Depression, on April 1, 1938, and passed June 20, 2024. She was one of six siblings, and spent the first thirteen years of her life on the Caverly Farm, a time she spoke of fondly.
She married Paul Bouchard in 1959 and spent years living in Mississippi and South Carolina, where she had her first child, Henri, in 1961. She moved with her family to Michigan in 1968, where her second child, Joelle, was born in 1970. Harriet returned to New England with her family in 1977, settling in Levant, Maine, a place she grew to love. She and her husband, Paul, were the first owners of the Bangor Midas Muffler shop, and the subsequent owners of Midas shops in Waterville, Ellsworth, and Westbrook.
Harriet was generous, loving, and kind, and was loved by all who knew her. Some of the things she loved most in life included: her childhood German Shepherd, Prince; spending time at the family camp in Limington; playing the piano; singing; getting lost in a novel; birdwatching; and her beloved cat, Alvin, who was her companion in her final years.
Harriet was the last surviving sibling in her family, and is survived by her son, Henri Bouchard; daughter-in-law, Angela Bouchard; daughter, Joelle Jackson; son-in-law, Joseph Jackson; grandchildren, Benjamin Bouchard and Hannah Bouchard; and great-grandchild, Martin Bouchard-Verow. She will be greatly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to call 12 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Waugh Cemetery, Levant. Condolences to the family may be expressed at BrookingsSmith.com.
